Bronze Course
Motorcycle Basic Handling Skills:
The very first thing you need to do to get a motorcycle learner licence is gain a basic handling skills certificate. This shows that you’ve mastered the basic skills that will keep you safe on the road while you’re working towards your licence.
To pass a basic handling skills test you have to show you can:
- Ride at a walking pace & perform routine and quick stops
- Negotiate a cone slalom course
- Signal and ride a curve and stop within a curve
Silver Course
Next level up includes:
- Slow ride skills
- Routine stop practice, using brakes efficiently
- Slalom for balance and co-ordination
- Quick Stops, simulating emergency situations
- Riding a curve
- Motorcycle Basic Handling Skills Test
Gold Course
- I—Identification of Potential hazards
- P– Predicting how these hazards endanger you and other traffic
- D—Decide on how to deal with the hazards
- A—Act on your decision
- Cornering—CMSBGA technique
- Overtaking—Moving past traffic safely
- Plus all of the Silver Course
